About XATel Communications
XATel started in 2004 with plans to begin offering telecom service to Maine users. We first purchased a soft switch though CopperCom in early 2005. We planed on turning up lines shortly after that time. with expenses well over a million dollars our road to becoming Maine's local carrier wasn't as easy as planned. XATel ran into many road blocks during its history. We strived harder than most, and got through the very hard paperwork. Sometimes it seem as though reality would never happen. Maine has to be be one of the hardest states in the nation to be a telephone company for. We kept persistent though. Many thought 11/10/2008 would never happen. We did it. Now we are a full working telephone company. We have incurred a lot of expenses during this 4 year process. Our customers are now responding with gratitude, and thanks for hanging in there. What a goal this long journey was. We can now reward Maine people, and businesses in extensive savings, that the competitors have been taking from their pockets. XATel is here to stay. Our goal is to provide reliable, quality service everyone can afford.
